The result of national week on Labour Safety and Sanitation and Fire Prevention 2011

Most enterprises have plan in response to the national week on 13th Labour Safety and Sanitation and Fire Prevention from March 01 to 26, 2011, including contents such as: making expenditure for activities in response to the national week, organizing meetings and seminars at enterprise’s office, checking and fully equipping personal protective equipments, exercising plans for fire prevention, hanging banners, propaganda slogans on labour safety and sanitation at the factory…

Through the inspection, the team found that besides the above-mentioned results, there are also some weaknesses to overcome, such as:

- The work on labour safety and sanitation: some enterprises have not planed or have not measured harmful factors at work, some have not done or have not supplied enough the regime of allowances in kind to employees exposed to dangerous and hazardous working conditions in accordance with Circular 10/2006/TTLT-BLDTBXH-BYT dated on 09/12/2006 (Haein Chemical Co., Ltd, AK Vina Co.,Ltd, Tan Cang Joint Stock Company, Syndyne Industry Co., Ltd. Nhat Pham Paint Co.,Ltd, Shyange Paint Co., Ltd, ILSam Vietnam Co.,Ltd...); The training work on labour safety and sanitation did not met with the content of Circular 37/2005/TT-BTBXH dated on 29/12/2005, not fully capable of providing personal protective equipment for workers (clothes, sandals); the work of examining the health status at some units did not done sufficiently (Haein Chemical Co.,Ltd, AK Vina Co., Ltd.)…

- The work on fire prevention: in 2011, most of enterprises have not yet implemented the earth resistance testing, lightning protection system according to TCVN 46-2007.

- The implementation of production safety: Enterprises have not made the construction safety management system in the management of production and trade according to Circular 43/2010/TT-BCT TT dated on 29/12/2010 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade giving regulations on safety management in industry and trade; not yet fully implemented the periodic report on chemical safety according to Circular 28/2010/TT-BCT and report on using substances; not set up measures and carried out the exercise on measures to prevent and respond to chemical incidents for chemicals to make plans as prescribed in Decree 108/2008/ND-CP.
