The Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company officially put the Long Binh Tan Container Port into operation in Dong Nai province’s Bien Hoa city.
After five months of construction with total investment of over $ 4 million, container port is put into operation to meet the needs of cargo transport.
Long Binh Tan Container Port includes a 5,000-tonne wharf, two fixed container cranes with handling capacity of 40 tonnes, and a 3-ha container yard.
This is the transition of service development in accordance with the current trend to increase the efficiency and capacity of Long Binh Tan Port.
This year, The Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company plans to increase its capacity and build 2-3 cranes to raise the port's loading capacity to 250,000 containers a year and will expand its container yard to 10ha, meeting approximately 50% of the goods of industrial zones.
In 2010, The Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company will strive to increase its capacity to 3 million tons of cargo this year, 700,000 tons higher than the figure recorded in 2009. It expects to earn about VND 118 billion in revenues by the end of this year, up 38 billion against last year. The average income per worker will achieve VND 7 million per month.
