The Ministry of Posts and Telematics (MPT) on August 17 collaborated with the Singapore Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia) to hold a conference on the privatisation of enterprises operating in the telecommunications area.
Addressing the conference, MPT Deputy Minister Tran Duc Lai said 32 enterprises under the ministry have been privatised in the last three years and are in a stable and effective manner.
However, he added that these enterprises are small and specialise only in industrial production, consultation, construction and import-export activities.
The privatisation of remaining enterprises operating in mobile telephones, including the two giants of MobiFone and VinaPhone, is more complex and difficult, revealed the deputy minister.
ST Telemedia representatives at the conference, including Senior Vice President in charge of International Operations Anupam Garg, shared their experiences in management and business solutions with the participants.
ST Telemedia is a company that creates value by investing in and managing information-communications businesses. ST Telemedia’s group of companies provide a full range of information, communications and entertainment services over fixed lines, mobiles and the Internet.
